Energy Assistance

If you need help paying your utility bill, you can apply for a grant from the Office of Home Energy Programs (OHEP). The income-based grants are available for electric and gas bills. Get detailed information on the program and tips for filling out the application.

If you need help filling out the OHEP forms and applying for utility assistance in Calvert County, contact the Southern Maryland Tri-County Community Action Committee (SMTCCAC, Inc.) They have locations in Huntingtown to help Calvert County residents make their utility bills more affordable.

Mental Health

Do you feel sad, depressed, lonely or anxious? Mental health resources are available 24/7/365 by dialing 9-8-8 to speak to a crisis counselor.

The Calvert County Health Department also has a Mental Health Clinic that offers mental health services, including evaluations, medication management and therapy. Call the Health Department in Prince Frederick for further help: 410-535-5400 x318.

Calvert County has several food pantries and a community kitchen to help individuals and families in need of food. The More Tasty Blessings Community Kitchen & Resource Center provides a complimentary eat-in meal every Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The locations change by the month, and you can find them here.

Seniors can also contact the Hands of God Mobile Ministry at 410-535-2275. While seniors are prioritized, all are welcome.
